Cleft Lip
A birth abnormality causes a cleft lip, which is a facial deformity. When the right and left sides of the lip fail to fuse together, the result is a void known as a “cleft.” One out of every 700 or 800 infants is thought to be affected. Despite the fact that a number of genetic and environmental variables may contribute to the development of a cleft lip, many children are born with the condition. So, rather than focusing on the “how” or “why,” we should focus on “how can we assist?”
